Red Cactus Red Poll Stud was established in 1970 however Red Polls had been in my family well before then.
Based in Arthurs Creek, having originally milked Red Polls, I have seen and been a part of many changes through the Red Poll breed which has seen them evolve in to the quality carcase producing cattle of today.
With over 150 breeders being a combination of stud and commercial I look to position Red Polls in many facets of the modern cattle industry, having a broad outlook rather than being narrow or limited in the industry.
Focus is on feminine females who are structurally correct with high fertility, good quality prime steers or bullocks for the markets, with quality proven through carcase competitions.
In line with this aim is constant marketing through Red Poll breed sales ie; Whittlesea annual sale, the show circuit, field days, handlers camps, supporting and encouraging youth through these aspects, all of which make sure Red Polls are consistently out front and noticed.
I am very fortunate to have been awarded honorary life membership of the Australian Red Poll Battle Breeders inc and at the 2009 Royal Melbourne Show I was awarded the Presidents medal, both of which I am very proud to have received.
In addition to Red Cactus Stud I run a stock transport business and livestock agency, both of which I have been doing for many years alongside my Red Poll stud, this allows me to always be abreast of industry trends, changes and requirements.
